Did You Know Fighter Jets Are Mentioned in the Book of Revelation?
John describes extraordinary visions in Revelation 9 with the vocabulary and experiences available to him. He compares what he sees to horses, crowns, lions, thunder, chariots, and other things his audience would recognize. We still do this today to naturally explain unfamiliar things to others by comparing them to familiar things. A simple example is when someone sees a new piece of technology and says: "It's like a talking computer in your pocket" when describing a smartphone.
